  question for any ex-bethelites....or anyone else who might know.. after serving (aka being slaves) at the brooklyn bethel my sister and brother in law are leaving because she is pregnant.

  im just curious about something.

  how long is it normally in such circumstances before a couple leaves?

  things that make you go hmmm???.

  i guess it's a good thing my trip to greece has been postponed.. as i suspected jons' father is disputing his will.

  i'm not surprised, just irritated that i have to deal with this non person for one more day than neccesary.

  i don't know if this was discussed here before, but, what is the most ignorant comment you ever heard an elder say.

  i once had an elder say to me that my brother, who was at the time fighting in vietnam will be destroyed and killed over in 'nam because he did not accept "jehovah"!!!!

  i promptly told him to go "f" himself.

  How Long???

  i have been drifting for about 1 1/2 years now and was hoping that in a year or two i would have distanced myself enough from the org.

  that i can actually start living my life exactly the way i want to...aka celebrating the holidays by putting lights on the house, not having to tell my daughter not to say anything about going trick or treating, getting birthday presents or going to cheerleader camp.

  but i read some posts in the disfellowhiping thread started by somebody where people have been inactive for 3 years and are still disfellowhiped!

  but i will try and leave out here for as long as i can.. it is an email i have sent to my dad.

  hi gang,.

  because of the requests of my friends, i have decided to make the text of most of the previous essays on my website accessable again.. the format of the site is now very simple, text only for the most part.. thanks to everyone who encouraged me in my decision to take it apart.

  i've realized now that taking it down can't automatically erase my past, its something that i have to learn to exist with.. i'm still moving forward.. thanks to those who believe that my words merit reading.

  UN vs goals

  starting new thread with a bit of a twist on the topic.

  while i do not believe people will actually sever their ties with the watchtower on this issue, i do not doubt that a number of witness-affected people, especially the young, will recognize the hypocrisy and will factor that in when making their life decisions (ie, family, career and education).

  in my opinion, this is far more important than any consequences the watchtower society itself will face.. improving people's lives who are witness-affected should be our goal not changing a set of statistics.
